“ Luke was dedicated to everything he believed in, to his family and his friends. His face would light up every time he would talk about work especially when the Marines called him Doc. Luke made a difference to everyone that met him, and every single person has a lot to learn from him and the way he lived his life. He was the best brother. I could not have wished for a better one. I will always miss him and forever love him with all of my heart”  - Luke's Sister Sammie

Who are "Luke's Packer Backers"

Luke’s Packer Backers was started in October of 2007 by Rich and Donna Prulhiere as a way to get together and remembering Luke and his love of the Packers. Rich is the father of one of Luke’s closest friends, Sarah, and had many conversations with Luke about football. Although a Browns fan, Rich became an enthusiastic Packer fan over the last few years.  We can never thank him enough for his efforts in getting this group started. Mike Riley, Luke’s pal and fishing buddy from high school, took over for Rich this year. Mike is a lifelong Packer Fan and is looking forward to a great season, as are we all.

We are not a large group, we are the people that knew Luke or who have heard of Luke and want to commemorate his life, his service and sacrifice for our Country. So if you are a Packer fan and a Patriot. If you enjoy being amongst other Packer Fans and watching a game, come join us and celebrate Luke’s life and watch his beloved Packers win championship number 14 this year.

How to join Luke's Packer Backers

Luke's Packer Backers Scholarship Fund & Semper Fi Fund

If you would like to become a member of Luke’s Packer backers the cost is $30. For that you get an official Luke’s Packer Backer shirt, lanyard and I.D. with Luke’s picture. The proceeds from the sale of the shirts and lanyard go to Luke’s Memorial fund. We are not high tech so if you want to join please send you shirt size and a check for $30 and we will mail the shirt and lanyard to you. We have the shirts made up in small groups so it may take a couple of weeks to get it to you.  To those that join, thank you for helping keep Luke’s memory alive through his beloved Packers

We are going to have 6 – 8 official game days this year. See schedule of events on main page for games and times. Also there is going to be a Corn Hole Tournament in October with proceeds going to the Semper Fi Fund in Luke’s name. But there will always be someone at Rico’s for all the games so feel free to come any game day.

We meet at Rico’s Restaurant in Brimfield, Ohio (has a Kent mailing address). Eric Cook (owner/manager of Rico’s) adopted us as soon as Luke’s Packer Backers were formed in October of 2007. Eric has gone out of his way to help us in every way possible and we can’t thank him enough.  Rico’s is about 100 feet east of the intersection of State Route 43 and Tallmadge Road in Brimfield, right across from the Circle K.
